explaining how laws based on good intentions backfire and cause harm. Their six examples are: Smoking bans in bars cause more drunk driving,; sex offender laws make them harder to track; fishing restrictions mean smaller fish; the Endangered Species Act endangers species; boxing gloves mean more head injuries; and the Paperwork Reduction Act does nothing of the sort.
