Emotional voting

In his Myth of the Rational Voter Byran Caplan argues that because we do not have to bear the consequences of our votes, we choose our politics on other bases. A pretty good example of what he is saying seems to be evident in this article, in which the author expresses some buyer's remorse for one of her emotional reactions, but seems unaware that all of her political views are nothing more than emotional reactions.
